    My Business Mobile


    My Business Mobile is an app that allows businesses to accept face-to-face contactless card transactions on their smartphone, without the need for any additional payments hardware. The app will also accept payments via Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.

    What customer problems did you set out to solve?

    People are carrying less and less cash, 40% of people carry no cash at all. Contactless payment is now the most popular way to pay. Businesses that do not take contactless payments are losing out to the ones who do.

    Worldpay wanted to create a cost-effective payment acceptance solution that could be used by sole traders and small businesses that currently only accept cash. The most cost-effective solution that Worldpay could come up with is one that is purely software based - nothing to ship!

    What differentiates your proposition from other offerings in the market?

    Worldpay is the first to release a mobile point of sale (mPoS) app that only requires a registered business to download an application on their own phone, login and start taking payments.

    There is no need for a special SIM, a separate pin entry devices, or plug-in dongle.

    Worldpay has a unique solution that uses state-of-the-art 'whitebox' software cryptography and online AI risk management to create a secure and trusted solution that can be used on a regular Android mobile phone.

    What impact has the proposition had? For example - in the industry, on your customers or commercially within the business.

    It was initially launched as a small-scale pilot, My Business Mobile is proving to be very popular with the small businesses that have used it and is also generating a lot of interest from large brands too.

    My Business mobile is seen to be a simple and scalable system that can be given to any sales staff, for any retailer, of any size.

    What’s next for your proposition?

    The technology behind My Business Mobile will be embedded into a software development kit (SDK) that will allow brands to add contactless acceptance functionality directly into their existing staff applications.
