    • Ninth annual Corporate Entrepreneur Awards brought together 400 European business innovation leaders

Market Gravity, the proposition design consultancy, hosted its ninth annual Corporate Entrepreneur Awards on Thursday 22nd November at the Design Museum London, celebrating big business innovation and recognising the individuals and teams behind it.

Retailer John Lewis & Partners was awarded the ‘Dare to Defy’ award, for their project The Residence. Designed to reimagine the future of retail, tens of thousands of customers have now visited The Residence spaces, attending workshops, hosting private dinner parties, and even staying overnight. Offering the ‘ultimate’ try-before-you-buy experience, The Residence was launched to achieve John Lewis & Partner’s ambition of delivering great new customer experiences.

VocaLink scooped the ‘Rising Star’ award for AML Insights, a world-first tool which overlays payment data with AI and machine learning to map the path of stolen funds across payment systems and uncover money laundering networks. With an estimated $1.6 trillion laundered globally every year, the technology holds the potential to have huge implications for those affected by money laundering and the activity it funds.

The award for ‘Excellence in Innovation’ was presented to Yolt by ING, the bank-agnostic app built to allow users to sync their different accounts in one app. Already boasting 500,000 registered users in the UK, Yolt has the ability to easily set budgets and track bills. Its in-app marketplace, Yolt Connect, also allows collaboration with other innovators and providers in the Fintech space to offer additional value to their users, including energy deals and pensions.

The Fellowship award, voted for this year by nearly 6,000 people, made up of the corporate entrepreneur community and their fans and followers, was presented to Coca Cola for their Coca Cola and Merlin Entertainments Reverse Vending Machines.

Over 60 global and market-leading brands including easyjet, HSBC, Audi and Vodafone entered the awards making this year’s event the biggest yet.

Pete Sayburn, partner at Deloitte and co-founder of Market Gravity said: “Bigger and better than ever, the CEAs have steadily become the event for big company innovation. Everyone that enters the awards and guests that join us at the CEA party truly represent the pinnacle of corporate entrepreneurship.

“These awards are also a barometer for the quality of innovation from our biggest and best companies. Once again we’ve been impressed by the calibre of the entries.

The CEAs are really important to Market Gravity and Deloitte. We want to recognise the commitment of big company innovators, bring like-minded people together and celebrate their success."
